Behavior: Upon arrival to the home setting, Ms. Hodge discussed with QMHP-C she has received several phone calls from the teacher at school about Ashiyahâs behavior and it relates to her being disrespectful as well as when she is reprimanded for her behaviors, she will display anger aggressive behaviors such as her balling her fist up, utilizing profanity, roaming the hallways and engaging in peer confrontation. 2. Behavior: Ashiyah appeared to be receptive to the interventions provided to her. Ashiyah was actively engaged in the session as she was justifying her behaviors when it comes to the teacher in the school setting. During the handout on anger management, Ashiyah needed redirection several times due to her engaging in side conversation with her brother who are exiting the home. 1. Intervention: QMHP-C inquired about Ashiyah emotional well-being. QMHP-C engaged Ashiyah in a handout on anger management. The handout educated Ashiyah on recognizing triggers and learning positive ways to channel that anger. QMHP-C allowed Ashiyah to complete daily entry in her journal and processed Ashiyahs thoughts and feelings expressed. QMHP-C allowed Ashiyah to identify thoughts that triggered her anger and assisted Ashiyah in identifying appropriate positive responses. QMHP-C assisted Ashiyah in defining expectations and clarifying her responsibilities and the importance of following the rules especially with following curfew, displaying respectful communication, not talking back. QMHP-C allowed Ashiyah to identify negative consequences of not following the rules and the danger that stems from her behaviors. 2. Intervention: QMHP-C also discussed recognizing negative peer interactions and how her group of friends engages in negative and disruptive behaviors. QMHP-C role-played with Ashiyah by allowing her to demonstrate several emotions such as (anger, frustration, sadness etc.) to facilitate an understanding of her own limitations of how much anger she can and cannot control. QMHP-C processed through open dialogue Ashiyah's response. QMHP-C then provided tentative examples for Ashiyah to follow to get a better understanding about her actions when displaying aggressive behaviors 1. Response: Ashiyah was receptive to QMHP-C's suggestions for today's session. Ashiyah indicated that she really never recognized that her group of peers has been a negative influence and has causes her to stay in trouble. Ashiyah indicated that she struggles with aggression and displaying negative attitude as she seeks attention and acceptance from others. 2. Response: Ashiyah struggles with engaging in respectful behaviors as her mother has reported that she talks back and becomes oppositional when it pertains to not wanting to be in the home and not following through with curfew. Through completing the handout, Ashiyah was able to verbalize anger and what causes her triggers that feud the behavior.
